A few weeks ago I saw a HE trip advertised to the Rural Life Centre in Farnham. It looked interesting so I had a look to see how accessible it was going to be. Looking at the website I came across their activity Thursday evente, children’s activities laid on in the school holidays. They looked far more up our street than the HE day – lots more to do and free to do it as you wanted. So yesterday we headed up there with friends for a day out.
It really is a gem of a place. Definitely worth going when the activities are on though, I suspect we’d have got bored relatively quickly looking at old buildings. As it was there was lots to do, we got there 11ish and left as it was closing. All activities were free and run by volunteers who were lovely. The weather was surprisingly nippy and there were other people there (as home educators we get used to having places to ourselves) but it didn’t feel busy. Much preferred it to the Weald and Downland which was my comparison.
Bit of time being bank robbers, with their getaway truck.
They loved the washing.
In the room with the toys they sold second hand books. I left with an armful.
Random photos. First Morrison shelter I’d seen and had never heard of a Stanton air raid shelter.
