Curriculum 2011

It has taken us a long time to work out what works best for us in terms of learning styles.

While not anti autonomous education, what I’ve seen and experienced in practice doesn’t fill me with confidence in it as the ONLY style of learning.

Therefore what I aim for is a style of education that provides enough structure and routine to reassure both myself and the boys, while on the otherhand allowing us the freedom to chase the boys interests or abandon the books for the day and head to the beach. They both need clear expectations and like end goals and things to strive for. On the otherhand I don’t believe everything should be routine and want them to be self motivated.

Whether I’ll succeed in meeting those aims with these plans I don’t know, time will tell.
